The solemn ceremony of opening of the traffic movement on the section km 1091 — km 1119 of the Don Federal Highway was held in Azov district of the Rostov region on May 19, 2017. Twenty-eight kilometers of the road for three years were reconstructed by the specialists of Joint Stock Company «Donaerodorstroy».

The ceremony was attended by General Director of the group of companies «Don» Nikolay IMEDASHVILI, the Chairman of the group of companies «Don» Vladimir KIRSANOV, General Director of JSC «Donaerodorstroy» Sergey ZUBANOV, the representatives of the «Avtodor» State Company, the design engineers and the road builders.

During the event Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Yevgeny BUSHMIN, Minister of Transport of Russia Maksim SOKOLOV, the Governor of the Rostov region Vasiliy GOLUBEV, the Chairman of the Board of the «Avtodor» State Company Sergey KELBAKH addressed to the attendees with solemn speech.

In their speeches they made specific mention of the role of road builders and high quality of the work performed.

For successful work the road builders were presented with awards and rewards.

The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation expressed the gratitude to the following persons:

• Sklyarov Igor Ivanovich — a chief mechanic of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Tretyakov Aleksandr Nikolaevich — an operator of asphalt spreader of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Novikov Aleksey Vasilyevich — an excavator operator of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Kulikov, Yuri Alekseyevich — an excavator operator of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy».

The «Avtodor» State Company expressed the gratitude to the following persons:

• Khlebnikov Vladimir Yurievich — a mechanic of section of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Naumenko Alexander Yakovlevich — a general foreman of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Ekimov, Nikolay Kirillovich — an excavator operator of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Panasenko Victor Nikolaevich — a car driver of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy»;
• Fedorenko Yevgeny Ivanovich — a car driver of Construction Department No. 872 of Joint Stock Company JSC «Donaerodorstroy».

«This section of road was built in the late nineteen-fifties, and until recently its characteristics were little in line with modern requirements. But thanks to the «Avtodor» State Company, which pays key attention to the «Don» Highway, we were able together to implement this project of reconstruction,« — noted the head of Board of group of companies «Don» Vladimir Kirsanov.

General Director of the group of companies «Don» Nikolay Imedashvili thanked the road specialists for their hard work, emphasizing that «in the course of the work they applied a lot of advanced solutions, including, in particular, recycling, installation of median barrier of New Jersey type and a lot of others.»

During the reconstruction the roadbed was considerably widened, the bridges across the Kagalnik and Elbuzd Rivers were repaired, five new viaducts and four transport junctions were built: «Samarskoye-Vorontsovka», «Samarskoye-Novobataisk», «Kayalsky-Elbuzd» and «Stepnyansky-Burkhanovka».

At the present time the section of the M-4 Don Highway km 1091–1119 meets the following technical criteria:

— design speed: 120 km/h;
— number of traffic lanes: 4 lanes 3.75 m each;
— width of separating strip: 2.61 m
— shoulder width: 3.75 m;
— grading width: 25.11 m.
