On October 20, 2017 in the Volgograd region after the unique reconstruction of 10 kilometers of the road towards Moscow a solemn opening of a new section took place. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Volgograd region Andrey Bocharov, the head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Starovoit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC «Donaerodorstroy» Aleksey Knyshov, the General Director of OJSC «Group of Construction Companies «Don» Nikolay Imedashvili.

In 2014 road specialists of Construction Department No. 873 started to restore a section km 922 — km 932 of the M-6 Caspiy Federal Highway in Gorodishchensky district, the Volgograd region.

In the climatic conditions of the region, with high summer temperatures and abrupt changes «below zero» in winter, the formation of wheel tracking and the quick destruction of the asphalt are inevitable.

So, the section was designed entirely cement concrete. This material is more durable than asphalt, it is resistant to high temperatures, it has high resistance to friction and is quite light that increases safety on the road at night.

Such highway will need major repair only in a quarter of a century.

By efforts of the builders of JSC «Donaerodorstroy» the road was widened from two to four traffic lanes; it was equipped with electric lighting line, barrier railings and modern traffic striping. Near the village of Samofalovka a new transport interchange was built, which provides a safe slip roads to the neighboring settlements passing the intersection with a busy highway, and two new bridges.
