On August 26, 2015 the formal opening of the new highway "Rostov – Azov” took place. The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, the caretaker governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, the chairman of the Board of directors of an open joint-stock company “Donaerodorstroy” Alexey Knyshov, the chairman of the Board of group of companies “Don” Vladimir Kirsanov, the deputy plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Gurba participated in it.

Speaking to the guests of the ceremony, Maxim Sokolov highlighted that the road is of particular importance not only in linking the districts, oblast and regions, but also in becoming one of the transit corridors of motor transport to the Crimean federal district.

The caretaker governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev emphasized that the new highway means high quality, reliability and new living standard for the population of the Rostov region. "Such projects change our life for the better, make it more comfortable for people ", - he says.

In his turn, Alexey Knyshov on behalf of a general contractor, the company “Donaerodorstroy”, warmly congratulated all the residents of the Don region on the opening of a new road and thanked the road builders, designers, representatives of the subcontracting firms and the Government of the region for the successful cooperative implementation of this large-scale major project.

“As popular wisdom goes: “Where there is a road, there is a way””, - he said in his speech. -And I am convinced that after building the route “Rostov-Azov”, we will continue to stride confidently together with our Rostov region! Along the way of creation and prosperity!”

We would remind you that the project started at the end of 2012. The builders managed to finish construction before the set time. It became the largest project on the regional road construction for the last decades, moreover, it was carried out without raising the federal funds.

Less than in three years builders constructed a four-lane highway without adjunctions at one level, with the carriageway of 7,5 meter width in each direction, a six-meter dividing strip, with three traffic intersections at different levels (including one of the cloverleaf type), with a steel-rein-forced overpass (323 meters) and 9 flyovers.

The project cost 6,5 billion roubles to the regional budget.

The traffic capacity of the new road is up to 36 thousand cars per day.

The design speed of traffic is 120 kilometers per hour.

 The route length is 19 863 meters.
